As a lecturer in the Informatics Department at Universitas Tanjungpura, I had the opportunity to moderate an interactive discussion during Apple Developer Academy @ Infinite Learning Goes to the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Tanjungpura.
The event brought together hundreds of students eager to learn about global opportunities in software development, innovation, and Apple's project-based learning ecosystem.
Bridging Academia and Industry
One of my goals as moderator was to help students connect what they learn in the classroom with the expectations of today's technology industry.
Together with representatives from Apple Developer Academy @ Infinite Learning, we explored topics including:
- Project-based learning
- Building a strong application portfolio
- UI/UX and product thinking
- Agile collaboration
- Technology entrepreneurship
- Career opportunities in the global tech industry
Encouraging Meaningful Conversations
The discussion became highly interactive as students asked questions about preparing competitive portfolios, passing the academy selection process, and identifying real-world problems that can be transformed into impactful digital solutions.
It was inspiring to see students actively challenge ideas, share their aspirations, and think beyond writing code toward creating products that solve meaningful problems.
Looking Ahead
Events like this demonstrate the importance of strengthening collaboration between universities and industry.
By exposing students to global technology ecosystems early in their academic journey, we can help prepare the next generation of digital leaders who are not only technically capable but also innovative, collaborative, and ready to create meaningful impact.
