Design Thinking Workshop: Creating Innovative and Impactful Student Organization Programs

The Challenge
As part of the INOVA+ Workshop Series during the 67th Anniversary of Universitas Tanjungpura, students sought practical strategies for designing organizational programs that go beyond creativity and generate meaningful impact. The workshop also served as preparation for participants joining the University Student Organization Innovation Competition.
My Contribution
I facilitated an interactive workshop for more than 200 students, introducing Design Thinking as a practical framework for understanding user needs, identifying root causes, generating innovative ideas, and transforming them into impactful organizational programs.
Through case studies, discussions, and hands-on activities, participants developed a more empathetic, innovative, and solution-oriented mindset for leading student organizations.
Results
More than 200 students from various student organizations participated in the workshop. Participants left with practical tools and frameworks that they could immediately apply to organizational planning and innovation competitions. The session strengthened their capabilities in leadership, innovation, and problem-solving while encouraging them to design initiatives that better address the needs of both the campus and the wider community.
Outcome
Participants gained a practical Design Thinking framework to identify root problems, develop user-centered solutions, and create impactful student organization initiatives.
